My top 50 albums of the eighties

Top 50 1980 - 1989 in no particular order: A nice e-mail conversation with an editor of the progressive rock magazine iO Pages, brought us to our lists of top albums from the decades of our youth. He is from the sixties, my roots lies in the eighties. I came with a top 50 of albums in no specific order. I know this is a list of the day created, at another place in time it for sure will look different. Already I noticed bands who are missing, albums overseen. But well it's the top 50 of today. artiest titel jaar van uitgave 10CC Windows In The Jungle 1983 Adventures, The Sea Of Love 1988 Berlin Count Three And Pray 1986 Big Country The Crossing 1982 Bush, Kate The Hounds Of Love 1987 Camel Stationary Traveller 1984 China Crisis Working With Fire And Steel 1983 Clan Of Xymox Clan Of Xymox 1985 Deacon Blue When The World Knows Your Name 1989

DEEEXPUS King Of Number 33 (EAR MUSIC / EDEL) From now on DeeExpus can count on the attention of a wider audience and their fame will only increase. Although I have to admit that their musical experience on King Of Number 33 also without the incorporation of Marillion keyboardist Mark Kelly would have succeeded. Multi-instrumentalist Andy Ditchfield and singer Tony Wright wrote the album which is centered around the 26 minute King Of Number 33. A six-piece Magnus opus on the downfall of a local eccentric from Tony Wright's youth, who was obsessed with buses and the English monarchy in the past. The pallet from which this beautiful musical landscape has been created, shows references to Porcupine Tree, Marillion, Dream Theater and Riverside, where one does not shun even the gothic grunge. Opener Me And My Downfall directly shows the Porcupine Tree / Marillion references. Great riffs and the familiar strumming guitars. With the melodic and adventurous keyboards and sensitive

Unheilig, Lichter der Stadt tour Support by Staubkind & Andreas Bourani 30 juni 2012, MEP Arena, Meppen, Germany An evening in Meppen. Oh how hard it was to get to the stadion. The parkings turned to be full so in the end we parked our car along a road. From there it was a 1.8 kilometer walk. Since we had to wait so long in the traffic jam, we arrived when Staubkind was already playing. Unfortunately we hardly knew the songs, so no setlist. What I heard was a band sounding like a clone of Unheilig. Time to have a drink, which turned out to be a journey on itself. Nearly 15 minutes waiting to get two drinks, and a girl at the counter which showed to be a bitch. The way she was serving the customers, if I was her boss I kicked her out right away. The stress overtook her totally and she abreacted it on the customers. Beerglasses were put down on the counter with such force that the content overflowed the glass. She nearly threw the change to the customers, and ignored people
