An announcement from Unheilig: When wishes come true


On the fourth of July, the Unheilig team came with the following news:

Dear Unheilig fans,

In the last few weeks, things have turned upon us. Your feedback about a release of the farewell concert in Cologne, has overwhelmed us so much that we have once again put our heads together to make something special for you.
After the count had announced his departure in 2014, he became aware that he wanted to leave a musical legacy. He also produced new songs as well as on the previous tours during the "Zeit zu gehen" tour. These tracks with the Unheilig manuscript are so far unpublished and determined for their fans and for another artist. But this is not settled yet...
We would like to fulfill the wish of the count to publish a selection of these particular songs under Unheilig. What is closer to that than a Best Of Vol. 2 CD? We picked up the most popular Unheilig tracks, unreleased and revised songs and compiled a great CD.
New Unheilig songs like "Lass uns tanzen", "Der erste Schnee" and "Sterne Hoch", which were created on the their, will be on the best of vol. 2 to be. "Der Himmel über mir", a truly old Unheilig song, explains the band's name and the formation of Unheilig. New recorded and production may not miss this song in this best of collection. With "Sonnentag 2017" you can look forward to another favorite song of the count from the previous time.
As we would like to fulfill your wish, there is a special highlight of the best of the live recording of the farewell concert in the Cologne RheinEnergieStadion. This emotional evening with the breathtaking mood in the sold-out stadium will be released as a DVD and Bluray. For everyone, The Best Of Vol. 2 will be published in three formats. The live recording is only available in the LTD. Deluxe Fan Edition Box. We are pleased that the new album will be released on 29. September. So mark the date.

Being a fan for many many years I was really surprised the band decided finally, after 25 years, to do an European tour again. I am aware of the fact that it's only Mike Score nowadays who's left of the old line-up. Still I like to see them, because back in 1984 I was unable to visit the famous Noorderligt at Tilburg. On 09-09-09 A Flock Of Seagulls will play the well known Paradiso theatre in Amsterdam. I became an instant fan of the four when I heard I Ran on the radio. An Introduction To Dutch New Wave Vol. 32

And that brings us to Volume 32 of An Introduction To Dutch New Wave. This time 65% of the numbers came from recent purchased vinyl. I will keep telling that Discogs has become a major resource for discovering and hunting vinyl from bands and artists, that sometimes released one single only. But since a couple of weeks I am using a great cross reference site called Nederlandse vinylsingles . The guys behind this site are doing a great job, tracking down all Dutch vinyl singles. Some information on several songs. The Kimono track is spelled wrong. I kept it this way, since the cover of the single shows the same title. It’s one of the groups of which I used the single b-side instead of the a-side. The others are Blackout (b-side of Obscure Disco), G.T.
